The vineyard has been abandoned for decades after the passing of Aurora, a 97 year old widow, who ran the farm alone after her husband died early.

The roofs have caved in on the former house and outhouse, and the ruins are overgrown with weeds and seedlings. The expanding roots of brambles and vines constantly brake apart the stone walls, and have to go. Smaller ferns and plants are left in place while a tall fig tree inside the house ruin might be relocated.
